The Society of Neuroscience
From: Oswald Steward, Public Information Committe Chairperson
Joe Carey, Senior Director, Communications & Public
Affairs
Public awareness of neuroscience is vitally important,
especially its great potential for understanding the
brain and nervous system, and for treating brain disorders.
The society fulfills its obligation to inform the public
and to insure continued support for neuroscience research
through Annual Meeting press conferences and news releases
on popular topics.
This year Dr. Sugaya's abstract titled " Inner
ear hair cell regeneration from human neural stem cells
through Math1 transfection" was one of about 600
chosen from a pool of over 16,000 submissions, to be
included in the Annual Meeting Press Book. Hundreds
of members of national and international media recieve
the press book and cover the work they find intriguing.
